Tidningsstatistik (TS), part of the Research International group and the prime source for newspaper statistics in Sweden, were convicted by Swedish court for breaching the copyright laws. TS downloaded the entire web statistics data base for Swedish commercial web sites, KIAindex, in the process of trying to win the contract for producing KIAindex. The list had up to that point been produced without compensation by Lasse Näsström, who won the court case and will now continue to produce the list on behalf of the Swedish association for advertisers (Sveriges Annonsörer).

Enligt en intervju med Magnus Paulson som är VD på TS är han "förvånad" över den fällande domen. Detta visar tyvärr att TS fortfarande inte förstått att de gjort något fel och sannolikt kommer leda till fler missförstånd av TS då det gäller data och databaser.

The sale of its share in the jointly owned Finnish fieldwork company to Norstat, does not mean a withdrawal from Finland, according to Hermelins owner Dacke Group.
