Approaching the end of the second and last day of the Innovate conference in Copenhagen, the pieces are beginning to fall into their places. What yesterday seemed like an endless and futile row of attempts at definition innovation, today proved to be a vital build-up of the foundation the following presentations needed. Todays presentations provided the specific research innovations I hoped to find from the start.

More in-depth reviews will follow in future articles - I have a train to catch now - but lets just sum up that quality of presentations have been clearly higher than at ESOMAR large congress. It seems like the small conferences is the place to go when you are interested in the contents of presentations. This time, networking and partying worked well too - to a part helped by the ongoing European Championships in football, which have engaged almost everyone.

One thing that has also become obvious is why ESOMAR doesn't let people in for half days or one day. The conference program is a whole which requires full attention during two days to make sense. Cutting off smaller chunks just risks causing discontent and frustration. Too bad then that it is so hard to cut down on the number of presentations and run the conference in just one day. Some presentations are naturally not as good as the best, but no one so far fell through the floor and there is no telling in advance who will be superb and who will just be very good.
